Women Grow Uganda (WGU) is a Non Government Organisation which was formed to empower the rural unprivileged women and allother vulnerable people in isolated communities of Uganda with a focus on the underlying causes of poverty, which makes them vulnerable in their own communities and prevents them from soci economic growth and development.
To create a society where every woman, regardless of her background, has the tools, skills, and opportunities to lead a fulfilling and prosperous life. We envision a Uganda where women and vulnerable communities are uplifted, economically self-sufficient, and actively contributing to the development of their society.
The challenges faced by rural and vulnerable communities in Uganda are vast, but with your support, we can continue to make meaningful changes. Whether you choose to donate, volunteer, or partner with us, your involvement helps us empower individuals to change their lives for the better.
Together, we can build a brighter future for Uganda’s women and vulnerable communities.
The idea behind the creation of Women Grow Uganda stemmed from the founders’ participation in an exchange program facilitated by FK/NOREC in 2003. Through this experience, they were able to share valuable knowledge and insights, which ultimately inspired the founding of the organization in 2012. This exchange played a key role in shaping the mission and vision of Women Grow Uganda, guiding their work in empowering women and fostering growth within their communities.
